TYPICAL BEHAVIOUR OF AN ENGINEER

People who work in the fields of science and technology are not like other people. This can be frustrating to the nontechnical people who have to deal with them. The secret to coping with technology-oriented people is to understand their motivations. This chapter will teach you everything you need to know. I learned their customs and mannerisms by observing them, much the way Jane Goodall learned about the great apes, but without the hassle of grooming.
Engineering is so trendy these days that everybody wants to be one. The word "engineer" is greatly

The truth about... engineering jobs

Engineering jobs
Recession, economic misery, redundancies. It’s a bleak world out there... Not so if you’re an engineer! This is an industry with such a skills dearth that you’ll be able to pretty much pick and choose what job you walk into and what salary you’ll earn – yes, a big one. OK, so that might be a bit of an exaggeration but you get the idea. This is a great career to

Good Read; How To Get Your Kids Hooked Up On Maths At Early Stage.

A new survey from PBS KIDS of 1,000 parents found that those with older children are more likely to practice math skills daily with their kids than parents of younger children: 60 percent of parents of 5-8-year-olds practice math daily with their kids, whereas only half of parents of 2-4-year-olds do. Parents are also more likely to practice reading skills with their kids than they are to practice math. This may be in part due to parents’ lower comfort levels with teaching math. How A Single National Park Might Help Transform a Nation: Haiti's Pic Macaya

Haiti’s Challenges
Haiti’s President Michel Martelly (“Sweet Micky” to his music fans) has been urging the world to view Haiti as a tourist destination. It certainly used to be. In 1975, Hillary and Bill Clinton honeymooned in Haiti, as have countless other couples. More importantly, Haiti is, for all her heartache, simply magnificent. And it is worth reminding people that Port-au-Prince is less than a 90-minute flight from Miami or Fort Lauderdale.
In addition to the country’s extraordinary cultural, historic and artistic traditions, Haiti possesses a unique ecological situation, certainly challenged but also, sublime .
The challenges are all too recognizable. Unlike, to the northwest, neighboring Cuba’s 53 protected areas, 3 of them being World Heritage Sites, approximately 22 percent of that country being under some form of protection; and to the East, the Dominican Republic, with its 67 protected areas including 16 national parks, a demonstrative network of eco-tourist sites and

MUST READ,SCHOOLS SELLING POST UME FORMS FOR BUSINESS.

It has become an obvious fact that Nigeria post ume exercise is more of a business transaction than a screening exercise.its discouraging to know that schools actually sell thousands of post-utme forms(65thousand and still counting) and will only intend to accept a few thousand (maximum 5000) after the so-called screening exercise ,and pocket the money from the form from students who they do not intend to  offer admission to.This has only help to make jamb and institution rich and leaving our aspiring youth frustrated and after some few years of trying and staying at home they tend to be desperate to go to school irrespective of the course finally offered to them.what do you guys think is the remedy lets talk.

Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman, Zinox
Chief Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman, Zinox

THE Federal Government has been called upon, as a matter of urgent national importance, to initiate a policy of subsidy of computer ownership for students at various levels of education in the country.
Chairman of Zinox Technologies, Chief Leo Stan Ekeh made this call in Lagos while receiving officials of Intel Corporation of the US who paid him a visit.
Chief Ekeh said that if the aviation sector could have Aviation Development Fund, the maritime sector, the Ship Acquisition and Ship Building Fund among others, then there is no need why computer ownership and education for the nation’s children should not have such a fund.
And for the nation’s technological development, he added

IT MIGHT BE AND MIGHT NOT BE HIV CURE

Researchers are calling the apparent disappearance of HIV in a baby born with the infection a ‘functional cure,’ and the media is hailing the news. Dr. Kent Sepkowitz on why they should tread more softly.

This week at the 20th annual Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in Atlanta, a group of researchers announced they had achieved a “functional cure” of a newborn baby with HIV infection. The news made a major splash and raised hopes that a giant step forward in controlling this devastating infection was finally at hand.

To which I say—maybe. But probably not. The story is this: a pregnant woman with no prenatal care appeared in premature labor at a small rural hospital. She was not known previously to be HIV infected but on testing was found to have antibody to the virus. At this point, the infant was transferred to a larger hospital and tested for HIV itself and not for antibodies that might simply reflect the mother’s bloodstream. This test was repeatedly positive in the infant, though at surprisingly low levels,
Most federal university are said to be living in past glories. In a recent observation from university students ,it has been noticed that most federal universities actually are not what they actually pose to be both in academics and standard view, most schools do not take their efforts to enforce good quality education that builds up students in their chosen field of study.they spend so much time and effort just on theory that cant even be proved by the respective lectures especially in the so called sch of technologies, although they some exceptions but rare to find. The lack of relevant practicals in schools of technology is a major reason why  in our present world of technologies Nigerians(Nigeria) are not participants. We really need to wake up and take the bull by the horn and tackle this issues
who would you pay to see?
